Nippon Steel Decreases Steel Production by 300,000 tonnes for Jul-Sep
Akio Mimura, the president of Nippon Steel said on Tuesday that Nippon Steel Corporation decreases output of the steel products in the term for July to September by 300,000 tonnes for mainly export of general grade products compared with the first plan. The general steel products market of Asia is in a correction, and the overseas customer is demanding price reduction to Nippon Steel. However, Nippon Steel puts into practice the selling stance of maintenance of prices, and the accepting order of Nippon Steel is decreasing. For this reason, the steel products production of Nippon Steel in July to September decreases. Mimura said that the production of the firm slightly increases the high grade steel products with very tight of the supply and demand, and decreases the general grade products by above 300,000 tonnes for mainly export. About 80% of export by Nippon Steel is high-class steel for such as Japanese plant. The supply and demand of the steel products for manufacturing industry is tight and the contract price of Nippon Steel is also maintaining the rise keynote.
