China Issues 16 million tonnes of Coal Export License
Chinese government issued additional 16 million tonnes of coal export license for 2005, according to Japanese trading firms and steel makers. The total export quota increased to 80 million tonnes for the year as the country said before. The 6 million tonnes quota for coking coal is in line with the export volume in 2004. The coke export is smoother than before though the second batch of coke export quota is delay. Chinese export and import of coking coal and export of coke have heavy impact on worldwide supply when the country increases steel output significantly though the coking coal import didn't surge so far.
