Japan Mechanical Structural Steel Price by 5,000 yen
Japanese special steel makers increase structural steel price one after another. The largest special steel specialized maker, Daido Steel the selling prices by 5,000 yen or 5% for mechanical structural carbon steel or SC grade products in August shipment. Mitsubishi Steel Mfg. increases the price in July. However, the supply is less tight under lower demand in distributors' market. Distributors said makers increase the price one after another in short term and they have trouble to pass the higher cost price on users. They also said makers increased the prices in different timings and steps. With those difficulties, distributors wait the timing to increase their reselling prices.
