Nippon Steel & Sumikin to Hike 300 Series Stainless Flat Price by 5,000 yen
Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel announced on Thursday it would reduce the production of 300 series stainless steel by 20% in July-September compared with the capacity. It will increase the prices of 300 series stainless flat steel by 5,000 yen per tonne for distributors for June order to cover higher nickel price. The price of cold rolled stainless steel sheet increases to 320,000 yen per tonne for wide strip coil with cut side edges. The firm also increases the extra charge of the molybdenum rich 300 series stainless flat steel products including SUS316 grade by 20,000 yen to cover higher molybdenum price.
