Southern Steel of Vietnam to Test Run of New Cold Rolling Mill in June
Vietnamese major galvanizing steel maker, Southern Steel Sheet will start test running of the new cold rolling mill with 300,000 tonnes of annual output capacity in June after it established the first cold rolling mill in the country. The firm is testing pickling line with 400,000 tonnes of capacity and ships first products soon. The firm will ship cold rolled steel mainly as materials for galvanizing steel in September-October. Other galvanizing steel maker, Sun Steel Corporation also plans to launch a cold rolling mill with 300,000 tonnes of capacity in 2007. Vietnamese makes are investing upper stream steel operation to meet higher cold rolled steel when Australian BlueScope Steel builds new galvanizing line in the country.
