Tokyo Steel Posts Record Profit at 74 billion yen for fiscal 2004
Tokyo Steel Manufacturing announced on Wednesday it increased recurring profit to 5.6 times at 74 billion yen in fiscal 2004 ended March 2005 from previous year, representing record profit more than former record in fiscal 1990. The net profit increased to 4 times at 50.6 billion yen and the operating profit increased to 5 times at 72.9 billion yen with 52% more sales at 232.1 billion yen. The scrap purchase price was lower than expected while the selling price was higher. The firm distributes 20 yen per share of dividend, representing 14 yen more. The firm expects 58 billion yen of recurring profit with 240 billion yen of sales for fiscal 2005.
