METI Drafts Strategic Steel Technologies to Develop
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry drafted strategic steel technology to develop in mid- and long-term. METI picked up new promising technologies to improve competitiveness of steel makers and environmental measures and to keep stable supply of world no.1 quality products in order to promote international competitiveness of Japanese manufacturers. METI enforces the development as national projects emphasizing on production technology and better utilize of resources. METI secures budget for using technology of lower-grade raw materials and other themes in and after fiscal 2006 starting April 2006.
