Japan Automotive Special Steel Bar and Wire Supply to Keep Tight
Japanese 9 special steel bar and wire rod makers including integrated steel and special steel makers will increase the output for automobile by 5% to 6.6 million tonnes in fiscal 2005 stated April 2005 from fiscal 2004, according to research by Sangyo Press. They try to increase the output, which represents more than 60% of total output of special steel bar and wire rod, through new capacity, improving bottleneck and products mix. The demand of automotive parts using special steel bar and wire rod is expected to increase by 6%. The higher growth rate of demand than output could result in tight supply in the year as last year.
