Baosteel to Expand Steel Making and Rolling Capacity
Vice president Li Hai Ping of Baoshan Iron and Steel said the firm's vision to expand steel making capacity and build no.3 hot strip mill, no.5 cold rolling mill and electric welded pipe line under no.11 5-year plan after the expansion including no.4 blast furnace and plate mill under no.10 5-year plan. The firm will expand the raw steel output capacity to 15-16 million tonnes and the hot rolling capacity to 10 million tonnes annually. The firm eliminates bottleneck after commission of no.4 blast furnace and increases supply of sheet and other high valued steel product for domestic market.
