93% of the Makers Related Steel Products Feel it Difficult to Obtain the Products
Ministry of Industry, Trade and Economy announced on February 14 2005 the results of the research of worry of influence on 1,632 manufacturers of steel, nonferrous metal, metal products, and transport machines, etc. about steel products, etc. The Ministry searched how hard the makers, whose raw materials are steel products, obtain steel products and shifting to their selling prices from rises of steel product prices for 8 days from January 11 2005, taking into consideration tight situations of supply-demand of steel products and rises of their prices. Regarding difficulty obtaining steel products, there were 93% of the makers who felt it difficult to obtain them mainly because steel product prices rose and the period of the delivery of steel products extended a long period of time. As for rises of steel product prices, castings had the largest influence among the makers. Regarding shortage of steel products, transport machines had the largest influence among them.
