President of Toyota Motor Corporation has Understanding of Steel Product Price Hikes by Steel Makers
Sangyo Press interviewed Fujio Cho, President of Toyota Motor Corporation, in the meeting of exchange of congratulations by 4 Japanese automakers that was held at a hotel in the Tokyo Metropolitan last weekend. He told of current tight situations of steel products' supply and demand; he said that the firm would deal with cooperation of improvement of steel makers' production efficiency throughout reducing the kinds of steel products which Toyota purchases from steel makers, etc. In addition, regarding the makers' steel product price hikes, Toyota cannot help accepting the hikes to some degree due to current rises of the raw material prices, Cho said.
