Crude steel output is 28.915 million tonnes
Ministry Of Economy And Industry announced the ferrous production plan of October-December of fiscal 2004. Crude steel production increased by 2.8% from the previous period to 28.915 million tonnes, by 3.3% from the same period of previous year to 927,000 tonnes, it rises by 0.4% or 125,000 tonnes compared with 28.79 million tonnes of demand estimate. Blast furnaces steel manufactures will increase some 240,000 tonnes, special steel will increase some 100,000 tonnes from the previous period, and electric furnaces steel manufactures also increase by some 460,000 tonnes due to return action of decreased production in summer season. Blast furnaces steel manufactures etc. is likely to promote shifts from one for export to for domestic, and plate, coated steel sheet, sheet piles that is tight increase production. Ordinary steel production is 20.68 million tonnes (up 1.5% or 311,000 tonnes vs. the previous period), ordinary production for domestic is 15.303 million tonnes (up 3.1% or 462,000 tonnes), and for export is 5.378 million tonnes (down 2.7% or 150,000 tonnes).
H beam is 1.169 million tonnes (up 0.9% or 11,000 tonnes), for domestic is 1.072 million tonnes (down 7.7% or 89,000 tonnes), for export is 97,000 tonnes (up 212.9% or 66,000 tonnes).
Steel bar is 2.873 million tonnes (up 4.3% or 119,000 tonnes).
Special steel is 5.057 million tonnes (up 3% or 149,000 tonnes), for domestic is 3.583 million tonnes (up 3.1% or 107,000 tonnes), for export is 1.474 million tonnes (up 2.9% or 41,000 tonnes).
