Ferrous scrap market in Osaka continues to fall
Ferrous scrap market in Osaka is continuing to fall. Electric furnaces steel manufactures reduced the price by 1,000 yen in the aftermath of last week. Average price of H2 is below 27,000 yen, it is the level of the beginning of this month. It in Osaka increased to some 30,000 yen in the middle of this year. Current price drops by around 4,000 yen compared with peak. They reduce the price more than official price because H2 was sold by spot price in the Bon holiday. Thus premium was cleared away and price reduction was carried out on official price base after the Bon holiday break.
As for current H2 price, though high price is around 27,000 yen, low price is 25,000 yen range. There is a difference also in the situation of arrival of goods as well as the difference of the price. But when seeing overall, situation of arrival goods is going so well. The price in Osaka is not so much breadth of reduction as Tokyo, Nagoya and Himeji that directly receive an effect from decrease of export.
For the present, though there are some materials that respond to weakening in the market as summer season-specific decrease of generation. On the other hand, some makers stop furnace in summer season. Export market start to calm down, but many related parties have weak feeling due to the price decrease in advance of Japanese market.
