Ferrous Scrap Export Price Hits Record at Tender in Osaka
Ferrous scrap export price hit record 27,120 yen per tonne for 5,000 tonnes of H2 and other grades at successful bid for export tender on Wednesday held by Kansai Tetsugen, which is association of scrap dealers around Osaka. Scrap trader, Sanomaruka Corporation won the tender shipping scrap on August 18 and 19.
Japanese scrap export price reached averaged 22,477 yen per tonne at export tender held in mid-July by Kanto Tetsugen, scrap dealers' body around Tokyo. The Osaka's price exceeded the Tokyo's price by 4,643 yen following increasing offshore market.
The Osaka's tender was first successful tender in Osaka since Kansai Tetsugen's tender in March. Another scrap recyclers' body held a tender in June but it had no winner. Last successful bid was 25,700 yen per tonne in March.
