Japan Steel Export Increases by 0.8% in June
Japanese steel export increased by 0.8% to 2.906 million tonnes and by 26.7% to 214.125 billion yen in June from a year earlier, announced by Ministry of Finance on Thursday. Japanese steel import decreased by 2.7% to 525,992 tonnes and increased by 40.6% to 49.637 billion yen.

Japanese steel export increased by 45.6% to 97,0000 tonnes and by 41.5% to 9.996 billion yen for US in the month from a year earlier. The export increased by 202.7% to 47,000 tonnes and by 77.8% to 6.319 billion yen for European Union. The export decreased by 0.4% to 2.516 million tonnes and increased by 28.7% to 176.761 billion yen for Asia. The export increased by 32.1% to 611,000 tonnes and by 54.2% to 49.197 billion yen for China. The export decreased by 10.2% to 1.191 million tonnes and increased by 19.3% to 78.921 billion yen for Asian newly industrializing economies or NIES. The export decreased by 1.4% to 710,000 tonnes and increased by 23.2% to 49.368 billion yen for Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Japanese steel import increased by 20.9% to 1,875 tonnes and 16.4% to 1.568 billion yen from US in the month from a year earlier. The import increased by 26.6% to 12,359 tonnes and 2.77 billion yen from EU. The export increased by 2.4% to 381,704 tonnes and 33.006 billion yen from Asia. The import decreased by 3.5% to 119,871 tonnes and increased by 54.8% to 12.459 billion yen from China. The import increased by 0.5% to 240,521 tonnes and by 41.3% to 18.188 billion yen from Asian NIES. The import increased by 25% to 6,252 tonnes and by 49.1% to 1.402 billion yen from ASEAN. The import decreased by 63.7% to 16,721 tonnes and by 3% to 1.632 billion yen.
