Nippon Steel Supports the New Colliery Development of Russia
Nippon Steel supports the coal field development project of Russia, and submitted intention book (LOI) that received the raw material charcoal of 1.4 million tonnes every ten years from 2009 year last week. The firm supports the funding that reaches as much as two billion US dollars in total. The amount of the raw material charcoal receipt of five blast furnace makers in Japan is expected to reach about four million tonnes. There is a possibility of becoming a raw material charcoal source that Russia equals China if this is achieved worldwide in the situation where the raw material charcoal run short.
The coal mine is a clean coal and 20 million tonnes in the annual output scales, and will produce coal in 2007 and starts full operation in 2009.
